Morehead-Rowan County Law Enforcemnt issue drug warning
Editor’s Note: The following is a public service announcement delivered to Morehead State University from Morehead-Rowan County Law Enforcement:
The Morehead, KY City Chief of Police would like to notify the entire Morehead/Rowan County Community of a potential deadly drug threat.
Just recently, local law enforcement were called to the scene of an alleged overdose death of an out of state adult and the City Police seized several pounds of a white narcotic substance of unknown origin.
Morehead PD immediately sent a sample of the substance to the state police lab for testing and it was estimated that the substance was either fentanyl or carfentanyl.
Law enforcement is very concerned that these potentially deadly substances are now commonly used by dealers to mix or "cut" just about every illegal substance on the street, including marijuana.
The public should be aware and take appropriate precaution.
