Rowan County Sheriff Candidate Update

A third Democrat has filed to run for Rowan County Sheriff. 61-year-old Kenny Skeans of Morehead is retired from the Kentucky State Police. He joins Larry Joe Stevens and Matt Sparks in pursuing his party’s nomination to succeed long-time Sheriff Jack Carter.

If elected to the office, Skeans says, most people wouldn’t be too surprised by his top priority…

Skeans says he also wants to crack down on property theft in Rowan County. A native of Floyd County, Skeans has lived in the Morehead area since 1976.
