A 32-year-old Morehead man wants to be the next Rowan County Jailer. Wes Coldiron has announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for the seat which is being vacated next year by Republican Don Hall.
Coldiron has worked at the jail, as well as the Morehead Police Department and has been a dispatcher for the Kentucky State Police.
He says Rowan County’s next jailer will be managing a new and larger lockup and it’s critical that available resources be used wisely…
Coldiron says the revenue Rowan County would receive by housing prisoners from other counties is vital to operating the jail cost-effectively.
