Join us for an interdisciplinary speaker event with MSU alum Dr. Mandi Bates Bailey!
On Tuesday, March 11th, at 4:30 pm in Rader Hall 111, Dr. Bailey will discuss her recently published book, “The Downhome Sound: Diversity & Politics in Americana Music”.
Dr. Bailey received a bachelor's degree in communication from MSU before earning a M.A. (University of Tennessee) and PhD (University of Kentucky) in political science. She is currently teaching at American University and previously was a professor at Valdosta State University.
Dr. Bailey has over 14 peer-reviewed publications, with research focusing on the topics of political behavior and methodology in American politics. She currently has two more books under contract, “LGBTQ+ Public Opinion: The United States in Global Context” and “The Grass is Pink: Feminism & Politics in Old Time String Music”.
