St. Claire HealthCare Announces Plans to Open Urgent Care Center

St. Claire HealthCare

St. Claire HealthCare (SCH) is providing patients with easy access to quality care by bringing urgent care to Morehead.

The new Urgent Care Center, set to open in February, will offer walk-in care after-hours and on weekends and will feature on-site laboratory and radiology services for your added convenience.

The Urgent Care Center will be temporarily located at the SCH Outpatient Center at 1028 E. Main St., (just off US 60 East) while a new state-of-the-art facility is being built.

The future home of the Urgent Care Center will be located between Cracker Barrel and the new Starbucks at I-64 and KY 32. Construction is set to begin in early 2022.

“This is one of many strategic investments SCH is making in our community to ensure individuals across the region have access to the quality healthcare services they need, when and where they need it,” said Donald H. Lloyd, II, SCH President/CEO.

Significant investments are ongoing at SCH’s main campus as well.

The former Morehead Medical Specialists building (also known as the Morehead Clinic), located near the hospital’s main entrance, is undergoing a $1.6 million renovation that will allow for the consolidation of non-clinical operations such as medical records, financial services, centralized scheduling, and others.

Not only will this consolidation improve efficiency, but more importantly, it will free up space inside the hospital to begin the transition to private patient rooms for inpatient care.

Improvements are also underway to enhance both operational efficiency and patient experience inside the 81,000 sq. ft., Medical Pavilion which is home to SCH’s specialty physician practices.

“Our priority is to ensure that our patients have the best experience possible when in our care,” said Lloyd. “The future is bright for St. Claire HealthCare and we will continue to find ways to improve the patient experience and provide unmatched services locally to the people of our community.”
