St. Claire Foundation’s Annual Benefit Golf Outing Raises Nearly $50,000

St. Claire HealthCare

The St. Claire Foundation is excited to announce another successful benefit golf outing.

This year, $49,360 was raised during the event, nearly a 23% increase over the 2019 outing and almost double the amount raised in their 2020 Charity Golf UN-Scramble that was held virtually.

“The support we receive for this event every year is simply amazing,” said Tom Lewis, St. Claire Foundation Executive Director. “While the outing is always a blast and everyone enjoys a day on the course, it’s evident that our sponsors truly care about the mission at St. Claire HealthCare and support that through their generous donations.”

A number of sponsors for the event have held tradition by participating since the annual benefit golf outing’s inception 26 years ago, including DBL Law, Eagle Chevrolet-Buick-GMC, Morehead State University, Pepsi, Stock Yards Bank, The Citizens Bank, USI, and Whitaker Bank.

More than 40 teams participated in this year's outing, held on Sept. 9 at Morehead’s Eagle Trace Golf Course, with both a morning and afternoon flight. Winners of the morning flight were the team of Brooke McKenzie, OT (tier 1) and Enterprise Fleet Management (tier 2). American Business Systems (tier 1) and Blue & Co. (tier 2) led the afternoon flight.

“Over the last 26 years of golf outings, the Foundation has raised more than $1.7 million in cash and tangible donations to support our charity care efforts,” said Lewis. “The St. Claire Charity Care Fund helps to provide quality healthcare to low-income families in our region. We are always so grateful for the support our sponsors show to assist us with offering this fund to our patients that may be in need.”
