St. Claire HealthCare Golf UN-Scramble Raises More Than $26,000 for Charity Care Efforts

St. Claire HealthCare

COVID-19 may have prevented St. Claire HealthCare from holding its annual charity golf outing for the first time in 26 years. But some supporters didn’t let a pandemic prevent them from aiding SCH’s charity care efforts.

St. Claire shifted its approach and has received $26,350 in donations through its 2020 Charity Golf UN-Scramble.

“As much as we love to see our supporters at our annual golf outing, we knew it simply wasn’t feasible – or responsible – to host the event this fall,” said St. Claire Foundation Executive Director Tom Lewis. “But as our UN-Scramble slogan says, ‘Even when unsafe to play, the need for care never goes away.’”

Lewis said St. Claire appealed to individuals and vendors for their support of charity care, and even without the usual day of golf, food and prizes, a number answered the call.

“A special thank you to our Gold Sponsor, Dr. Ewell Scott. He has long been a leader in our region’s medical community, and he continues to lead by example as we strive to care for the most vulnerable among us,” Lewis said.

“I also want to specifically thank our Silver Sponsors, US Bank and EFEND Cybersecurity and Technical Services” Lewis said. “US Bank is a longtime supporter of St. Claire’s golf outings, while EFEND is a new one.”

To support St. Claire’s charity care efforts, visit http://www.st-claire.org/give-back or call the St. Claire Foundation at 606.783.6512.

“It’s never too late to give, and gifts to the St. Claire Foundation are tax-deductible,” Lewis said.
