Morehead SBDC to Host Workshop Sept. 26

A workshop, titled “Doing Business with the Federal Government,” will be offered by Morehead State University’s Morehead Small Business Development Center Thursday, Sept. 26. 

The event will be held from 1-3:30 p.m. at the Morehead SBDC office, 150 East First Street, in the Old Train Deport building. 

Robert Coffey of the Louisville Small Business Administration will be the guest speaker. 

This seminar will touch on various topics to help you understand how to sell your goods or services to federal agencies. 

Topics to be discussed include: 

  • Federal government contracting opportunities; 
  • Products and services regularly purchased by the federal government; 
  • How the federal government buys products/services; 
  • Certification programs for small businesses (women, minorities, veterans,); 
  • Registering on System for Award Management (SAM) database; 
  • Marketing to the federal government; 
  • Reciprocal preference and other contracting laws. 

Seating is limited and advance registration is required. The event is free of charge. 
Training programs, sponsored or co-sponsored by SBDC, are available to all individuals without regard to race, color, sex, creed or national origin.
