Kentucky Bourbon Pioneer Dies At 75

One of the inaugural members of the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame has passed away.

Lincoln Henderson, the longtime master distiller at Brown-Forman Corporation who came out of retirement to create his own brand of bourbon, died Tuesday (September 10) at the age of 75.

At Brown-Forman, Henderson led the development of brands such as Woodford Reserve that have helped propel the industry’s unprecedented growth in recent years.

In 2006, along with his son and grandson, Henderson developed a new brand, Angel’s Envy, which will be distilled starting next year at a renovated building in downtown Louisville.

Henderson spent 40 years as master distiller at Brown-Forman.  He was inducted into the Bourbon Hall of Fame in 2001.
