The city of Ashland will soon be supplying water for about 45-hundred Boyd County residents who are served by the Big Sandy Water District. City commissioners Thursday (August 8) approved an agreement with the district to construct about six miles of transmission line to extend the service.
City Commissioner Kevin Gunderson says it’ll generate more than 3-hundred thousand dollars in extra income for Ashland.

The Big Sandy Water District obtained some 1.4 million dollars in federal funds to help pay for the project.
