The Morehead State Western Team had a successful weekend with two shows on Saturday, Feb. 22.

The team was third overall in the morning show and claimed High Point Team in the afternoon show. The students hosted and competed in the show.

In the afternoon show, senior Sydnee Barker from Frankfort, Ohio, was Reserve High Point Rider overall. Three western riders will move on to Regionals on March 1 at Midway University: senior Sara Misura from Wadsworth, Ohio, in Rookie B; Sophomore Chelsey Pullins from Pomeroy, Ohio, in Beginner; and Sophomore Hannah Wagner from Union, in Rookie B.

"I am super proud of all our riders, especially for our great rides in the afternoon that made us high point team," said Coach Devin Lintzenich. "I'm looking forward to Regionals; everyone is practicing super hard. Sara and Hannah have a huge division to ride against but I know they'll put their best rides in the ring, and Chelsey has a great chance with two of the four riders in her division getting to move on to Semifinals in Oklahoma."
