The Claypool-Young Art Gallery at Morehead State University will host the 2014 Sophomore Art &Design Exhibition, April 2 through 9.
The annual show is an opportunity for MSU Department of Art & Design students to exhibit as emerging artists in a professional setting at the midpoint of their college career. The exhibition opens with a reception featuring live music by MSU students and complimentary refreshments on Wednesday, April 2 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Participating artists include Nicole Bailey (Topmost); Abigail Baggett-Oney (Asheville, NC); Sarah Barrett (Louisville); Alex (AJ) Bauer (Independence); Sarah Brown (Pritchard, WV); Heather Burns (Union); Austin Casebolt (Morehead); Rennie Davis (Union); Colin Harris (Tollesboro); Julieann Helton (Salyersville); Nathan Holbrook (Olive Hill); Jacob Hollon (Mt. Sterling); Kristin Howell (Hindman) and Kinsey Imel (Grundy, VA).
Other participating artists include Sarah Jackson (Flemingsburg); Emily Johnson (Mt. Sterling); Bret Kinney (Hillsboro); Kirstin Manship (Morehead); Paige McCreary (Wallins); Hannah Mills (Carlisle); Betty Morris (Winchester); Jessica Robertson (Olive Hill); Sarah Vaugh (Morehead); Marina Vitatoe (Mt. Olivet); Julie Willian (Winchester); and Jennifer Workman (Maysville).
The Claypool-Young Art Gallery features contemporary art for the Morehead State University community as well as the university’s service region.
The gallery is located in the Claypool-Young Art Building on the campus of Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky. The gallery is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or by appointment, and is free and open to the public. Parking is available on Main Street, behind the Claypool-Young Art Building, and across campus after 5 p.m.
