'Sounds of Our Heritage' on KET in November

MSU

Kentucky Educational Television will feature a production in November by Morehead State University’s Convergent Media program in the Department of Communication, Media and Leadership Studies.

The 30-minute program, Sounds of Our Heritage, will feature eight performances from the April 2013 Sounds of Our Heritage concert performed by MSU’s Kentucky Center for Traditional Music. The annual concert showcases traditional, country and bluegrass music performed by faculty and students from KCTM.

The show will air on KET2: Monday, Nov. 4, at 9:30 p.m.; KET: Thursday, Nov. 7, at 12:30 a.m.; KETKY: Wednesday, Nov. 13, at midnight; and KETKY: Wednesday, Nov. 13, at noon.

The TV crew consisted of both faculty and students from the Convergent Media program. John Flavell, Steven Middleton and Tim Creekmore were the faculty and staff from the CVM area that produced the program.

Raymond McLain, KCTM director, coordinated and produced the concert. Jessie Wells recorded the sound. MSU students Ji Hoon Heo and Patrick Brumback were camera operators. Ji also assisted with editing.

Creekmore was the director and primary editor of the program.

The event was recorded in April at the Rowan County Arts Center. The Morehead Theatre Guild provided the lights and other materials.

Additional information is available by contacting Creekmore at 606-783-2440.
