Rowan County’s fiscal court won’t be turning over operation of the Tri-County Animal Shelter to the group “Saving The Animals of Rowan.”
Saying it thought it could do a better job of running the facility, STAR officials recently asked the court for permission to manage it. Judge-Executive Walter Blevins says he and the magistrates nixed that idea after being informed last week of planned improvements to the shelter by its board chairman, Scott Templeton…
Blevins says the county could re-visit the issue with STAR officials at a later date… but he says the decision would be left up to the new Judge-Executive and Fiscal Court elected by local voters in November.
