National Weather Service Issues Red Flag Warning for Parts of Kentucky

Kentucky Emergency Management

The National Weather Service in both Jackson and Louisville have issued a Red Flag Warning through Friday evening for the southeastern portion of the state.

A Red Flag Warning is a forecast warning issued by the National Weather Service to inform area firefighting and land management agencies that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures will create favorable weather for rapid fire growth and spread.
