With prospects bleak for saving Morehead’s 40-year-old swimming pool, Councilman Tom Carew says there may be an alternative at Morehead State University. He says the city might explore contracting with MSU for the use of its pool in the school’s Recreation and Wellness Center…
…And it may not work, says Carew, because the MSU pool is designed for athletic competition and a recreational facility may be more appropriate for the city.
Another option, he says, is building a new pool at a different site. An engineer has estimated the cost of repairing the city’s current swimming pool at more than half a million dollars.
