The cancelation of the Ewing-Fleming County Fair does not mean 4-H youngsters from Fleming County will be prevented from entering projects at the Kentucky State Fair…So says Fleming’s Extension Youth Agent Staci Thrasher.
She says 4-H members used to qualify for the state fair by winning ribbons during the week-long county fair but the termination of the local event left them without a venue to display their projects. Now, says Thrasher, they’ll have that opportunity with Fleming County’s first 4-H Rally Day on August 6th…
"The time for the kids to bring in their entries that morning is from 9 to 12. There are several divisions…horticulture, foods, arts and crafts, sewing, photography...we will have judging and State Fair selection that afternoon…and then all entries will be available for pickup that evening." - Staci Thrasher
Thrasher says 4-H students interested in submitting entries can pick up a Rally Day information packet at the Fleming County Extension Office.
