AppHarvest’s greenhouse will utilize Philips GreenPower LEDs. The lights produce less heat and will be used in warmer fall and spring months to grow more produce. During colder months, h-p lamps will be used, and the heat will help warm the greenhouse and reduce natural gas usage.
Founder and CEO Jonathan Webb says that puts Equilibrium’s investment into the project at nearly $100-million dollars.
