Morehead State Public Radio (WMKY, 90.3FM) staff and students took home a total of nine awards in the 2025 Kentucky Broadcasters Association (KBA) Excellence in Broadcasting Awards. The awards recognize the best in television and radio journalism for the calendar year of 2024.
The Excellence in Broadcasting Awards were presented on Sunday, September 14th at the Owensboro Convention Center in Owensboro, as part of KBA's Annual Membership Conference. The awards were announced for both professional and college entries. The professional competition is open to all KBA members in Kentucky and outside Kentucky with designated market areas that extend into Kentucky. To be eligible to enter, entries must be about news, features or sports that occurred solely in Kentucky. The college competition is designed to recognize Kentucky student broadcasters for outstanding performance in college broadcast journalism. The contest is open to any college in Kentucky.

- Finalist – Overall Digital Presence: Sydney Graham
- Finalist – Student Broadcaster of the Year: Braeden Trent
Radio Professional Division:
- Finalist – Special Program or Feature: Samantha Morrill, WMKY-FM ("Goddard Methodist Church in Fleming County Celebrates Bicentennial")
