Credit University of Kentucky DanceBlue
A record was set this weekend at the University of Kentucky and it had nothing to do with any athletics teams. More than 900 students raised over $2 million for children’s cancer research during the 15th annual 24-hour dance marathon DanceBlue.
Fundraising took place all year and ended with the marathon that started at 8:00 Saturday night and ended at 8:00 last night. For 24-hours straight, students danced without sitting or sleeping. The final tally for the DanceBlue Kentucky Children’s Hospital Hematology/Oncology Clinic… $2,000190.20. Since the event stared in 2006, more than $17 million has been raised.
