MSU Rifle Narrowly Falls at 10th Ranked Mississippi

Highlighted by five air scores of 580 or better, the Morehead State rifle team narrowly fell at 10th-ranked Mississippi on Saturday. The Eagles dropped the shoulder-to-shoulder match 4,642-4,604.

In air rifle, a trio of freshmen - Karly Potts (586), Sarah Fink (582) and Jesse Moyer (580) - helped the Eagles' cause to a team score of 2,328. Junior Haley Wilson (580) and freshman Alexa Potts (580) also got to the 580-plateau. Junior Dan Hall (579) and sophomore Brandon Bryer (579) were close as well.

Bryer led the team in smallbore with a 578, while Hall carded a 572. Junior Joe Fischer finished at 571. The team tallied a 2,276 smallbore total.

Mississippi had a pair of 590+ finishers in air.

The Eagles return home for a pair of matches next weekend. They host North Georgia on Saturday and Army on Sunday. Both matches are at Button Ranges.
