Federal Mogul-Maysville Plant Closure Strategy

Officials with Federal Mogul say the scheduled closure of its Maysville plant is part of an overall corporate strategy to reduce costs and improve efficiencies. The Michigan-based auto parts company discussed its plans during its quarterly conference call today.

Closure of the Maysville plant will result in the loss next year of more than 150 jobs. Federal Mogul today reported operating income of 100-million dollars for the quarter ending June 30th. That’s an increase of ten-million dollars from the second quarter of last year.
