Ashland’s 12th Street Bridge is expected to be re-opened today after it was damaged in late May. A truck reportedly crashed into the Ohio approach span, twisting a steel support beam and crews worked over the weekend to replace it. Kentucky transportation officials have had the structure closed as a precaution.

They concede the Tri-State area has been severely inconvenienced by the accident. Ashland City Commissioner Cheryl Spriggs says businesses in her town have likely been hurt by it, too…

A South Point, Ohio truck driver has been charged with failure to control and leaving the scene of an accident in connection with the damage to the 12th Street Bridge.
