There’s a walk scheduled next month in the Ashland area to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Kentucky and West Virginia. Ruth Hans is development director of the organization that’s fighting the fatal disease affecting about 30,000 Americans.

She says more research is needed into the genetic disorder that causes lung infections but progress is being made…

Hans says the foundation’s goal is to raise more than eight-thousand dollars from the northeast Kentucky event. She says the walk called “Great Strides” takes place Saturday, September 13th at 9 o’clock in the morning. It begins on the campus of Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell.
