Prevailing Wage Repeal Defeated

A proposal to repeal Kentucky’s prevailing wage law on school construction projects was soundly defeated Thursday in the House Labor and Industry committee. Only Republican Adam Koenig of Kenton County voted for the measure, which he said would save taxpayers money.

However, Democrat Richard Henderson of Montgomery County sees it a lot differently. He says not paying the prevailing wage depresses worker income and forces people into federal entitlement programs…

No one testified in favor of the proposal at Thursday’s hearing.
