UPIKE Status Update

It appears as if a proposal to add the University of Pikeville to Kentucky’s public higher education system is going nowhere…That’s according to the school’s president.
 
Doctor James Hurley appeared Sunday on KET’s One to One with Bill Goodman…
Hurley says it’s vital that the state legislature continue funding college scholarships for students from Kentucky’s coal counties and that the public universities receive adequate funding. If they don’t, he says, they’ll be competing for the same scarce financial contributions as private colleges like his.
