Kentucky State Police are investigating a threat posed to Rowan County Schools this morning.

The district notified parents around 10:45 that a threat had been made- and authorities began an investigation at the high school.   Students were on lock down within the school for about 45 minutes before being allowed to resume classes.

Superintendent Marvin Moore says a student posted a photo of himself with a B-B gun on social media. Within 12 minutes, police had the student in custody.

Moore says authorities found no evidence of a weapon at the school, but intended to search the student’s home.
