Governor Beshear today endorsed legislation pending in the House and Senate that would create an Adult Abuse Registry intended to prevent abusers from moving from job to job among group homes and personal care companies. The Governor says the registry would enhance current background check procedures already in place…

The Governor says 2.2 million dollars to support the registry was appropriated in the last state budget.  It would identify workers involved in abuse cases substantiated by Adult Protective Services and make those records available to companies or families looking to hire employees.
