The Rowan Schools employee accused of raping a student has been indicted on 23 counts.
40-year-old Andrew Zaheri was arrested February 15th on charges of 3rd degree rape. The citation states Zaheri was in an ongoing sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student, and admitted to a detective the offenses did occur. He was released on a $25,000 cash bond the following day. He was also placed on administrative leave by the school system, with the investigation turned over to child protective services.
With his indictments filed in open court on May 5th, Zaheri faces 10 counts of 3rd degree rape, 10 counts of 3rd degree sodomy and three counts of promoting a sexual performance by a minor. His arraignment has been set for June 2nd at 11:00a.m.
