Morehead State University hosted the Eastern Kentucky region’s annual Teach Meet on Tuesday, July 19, at the Adron Doran University Center (ADUC). The event drew over 200 participants from school districts, including Rowan County, Johnson County, Newport Independent, Ashland Independent and Russell Independent.

Teach Meet is a free professional development opportunity for K-12 teachers to learn about innovative technologies to incorporate into their daily instruction and to network with colleagues from across the region. Teach Meet featured short, demonstration-focused and interactive sessions. Attendees could choose from more than 56 sessions throughout the day, and teachers utilized their laptops, tablets and cell phones to access applications and share ideas for classroom usage.

Alumni from Morehead State University’s education programs presented their technology and teaching ideas at Teach Meet, including Andrea Kenney (Class of 2018), McBrayer Elementary; Maria White (Class of 2013), Clearfield Elementary; Stacie May (Class of 2009, 2018), Rowan County Middle School; Bethanie Henry (Class of 2007, 2013, 2018), Clearfield Elementary; Briana Cook (Class of 2014, 2020), Newport Independent High School; Cindy Combs (Class of 1998, 2008), Rowan County Middle School; Tara Montgomery (Class of 2004, 2008), Magoffin County High School; and Tessa Collins (Class of 2020, 2021), Rowan County Senior High School.
