Senior Jade Flory scored two goals, and senior midfielder Caity Fox recorded a pair of assists to lead the Morehead State soccer team to a 3-0 win over Tennessee Tech Sunday (Oct. 5) at Jayne Stadium.

Sophomore forward Angela Black capped the scoring with a goal with just five seconds left. Morehead State improved to 8-2-4 overall, 3-0-1 in the Ohio Valley Conference and 6-0-0 at home this year. MSU is now 9-1-2 against Tech since 2003. The Golden Eagles fell to 2-11-0 overall, 0-4-0 in the league and 1-9-0 in road matches.

The Morehead State soccer team played 10 on 11 for nearly 50 minutes, but still managed to notch a 2-1 victory over Ohio Valley Conference opponent Austin Peay on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 28) at Jayne Stadium.

The Eagles improve to 6-2-4 overall, 1-0-1 in conference action and 4-0-0 at home, while the Governors slip to 2-8-0 overall, 1-1-0 in league play and 0-3-0 on the road.

Soccer Plays Belmont to 2-2 Tie in Nashville

Sophomore forward Angela Black recorded her fourth and fifth goals of the season on Friday night (Sept. 26), but the Morehead State soccer team settled for a 2-2 tie against Belmont at Rose Park.

The Eagles move to 5-2-4 overall and 2-2-4 on the road, while the Bruins are now 3-3-3 overall and 1-1-3 at home. It was the first Ohio Valley Conference match for both schools.

Wright State Upends Eagle Soccer

Wright State scored a goal two minutes into the second half Sunday (Sept. 21) and held the Morehead State soccer team in check as the Raiders defeated the Eagles, 1-0, at Alumni Field.

WSU moved to 3-6 with its second consecutive win versus an Ohio Valley Conference opponent. MSU concluded its non-conference schedule at 5-2-3.

"My hat is off to Wright State," Head Coach Warren Lipka said. "They out-worked and out-played us today. Now we have to regroup and get ready for a tough conference slate."

Eagle Soccer Ends in Scoreless Tie at Xavier

The Morehead State soccer team doubled up Xavier in shots-on-goal Friday night (Sept. 19), but neither team found the back of the net in a 0-0, double-overtime tie at the Xavier Soccer Complex.

It marked the first scoreless tie for the MSU program since Sept. 30, 2011. The Eagles moved to 5-1-3 overall, while the Musketeers are now 3-5-2.

"I felt we played our best technical match of the season," Head Coach Warren Lipka said. "We ran into a tough team tonight in Xavier, but we got our second shutout this year, and I am happy for that."

Flory Garners Another OVC Award

For the second consecutive time, Morehead State senior soccer forward Jade Flory has been named Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

This marks the sixth time Flory has been named Offensive Player of the Week in her two-year career at MSU.

Senior midfielder Paige Weber scored her third career goal, and senior forward Jade Flory converted a penalty kick to help the Morehead State soccer team to a 2-1 victory against Wyoming Sunday (Sept. 13) at Jayne Stadium.

MSU improved to 5-1-2, while the Cowgirls, from the Mountain West Conference, dipped to 2-5-0. Morehead State has produced a five-match improvement from this point last season when the Eagles were 0-7-1.

Eagle Soccer Scores Signature Win Against Louisville

The Morehead State soccer team scored a signature win Friday night (Sept. 12), defeating the Louisville Cardinals 2-0 in front of the largest crowd at Jayne Stadium in the last three seasons.

Morehead State (4-1-2) had never defeated the Cardinals, trailing 11-0 in the series. Louisville (2-4-0), which is in its first season in the Atlantic Coast Conference, played in two of the last three NCAA Tournaments. MSU appeared in two of the last four NCAA Tournaments.

Morehead State senior forward Jade Flory has been named Ohio Valley Conference Soccer Co-Offensive Player of the Week.

Flory garnered her fifth weekly award from the league after winning the accolade four times in 2013.

She recorded two goals and an assist in the 4-1 win over Appalachian State Friday. Flory scored the Eagles' first and fourth goals while also assisting on the match-winning score. She now has 19 goals in less than two seasons at Morehead State.

Flory was the 2013 OVC Offensive Player of the Year.

Eagle Soccer Suffers First Loss At Kentucky

Kentucky jumped out to a two-goal lead less than nine minutes into Sunday evening's (Sept. 7) match at the Bell Soccer Complex and cruised to a 3-0 victory over Morehead State.

The Southeastern Conference Wildcats improve to 5-1-0 overall, while the Ohio Valley Conference Eagles slip to 3-1-2. MSU is still three wins better than its six-match record (0-5-1) a season ago.
