Morehead State seniors Jordan Walker and Djimon Henson combined for 46 points as the Eagle men's basketball team came up just short at Ohio Saturday, falling 82-76.

The Eagles fell behind by 12 in the first half but never fully faltered, mounting a furious rally to lead at the half. MSU slipped to 5-7 overall, while the Bobcats moved to 8-4.

Walker, who drilled six three-pointers, became just the second player in program history with at least 1,200 points, 200 assists, 100 steals and 175 triples. He has 176 three-balls now in his four seasons.

Senior guard Djimon Henson saw a night with multiple season and career highs. But, a blazing hot Thundering Herd offense was ultimately too much to overcome as the Morehead State men's basketball team fell to Marshall, 89-62, Monday night at Johnson Arena.

Henson re-wrote his personal-best ledger, as the Indianapolis native tied his career-high in points, scoring 23 on a season-best 5-for-9 from the floor, and a career high 11-of-14 from the charity stripe.

Morehead State men's basketball held visiting IUPUI to just one field goal in the final 13 minutes of the first half and used a 15-0 run to end the half en route to gutting out a 56-51 victory over the Jaguars Wednesday at Johnson Arena.

The Eagles, who ended a four-game losing skid, improved to 5-4 overall and won for the second straight year over IUPUI. The Jaguars dipped to 2-7.

While Morehead State had a tough night shooting the ball itself, the Eagles made the going tough for the Jaguars. MSU held IUPUI to just 5-of-25 (20 percent) in the opening 20 minutes.

If one were to look at Tuesday night's box score for the Morehead State men's basketball team, one would probably take a look at the key stats and assume a victory for the Eagles.

MSU shot 51 percent and only turned the ball over a season-low four times. But the host Tribe connected on 60 percent of their field goals, including 13 triples, as they raced past MSU 95-84 in an offensive shootout at Kaplan Arena.

It marked the first-ever meeting between the two programs. Morehead State slipped to 4-3 in 2019-20, while W&M moved to 5-1.

The Morehead State men's basketball team used an 18-2 first-half run and a 20-2 scoring spurt in the final half to distance itself and defeat visiting Spalding (Ky.) 92-44 Thursday at Johnson Arena.

Morehead State improved to 2-0, starting the season with two straight wins for the first time since 2016-17.

Five players scored in double figures for the host Eagles, led by sophomore guard Malik Riddle's 15. Junior guard Justin Thomas stuffed the stat sheet with 12 points, eight assists, six steals and six rebounds, and the Eagles canned 11 of 17 three-pointers.

Morehead State men's basketball picked up a gut-check victory in the first game out in the 2019-20 season as the Eagles outlasted visiting Samford 90-86 in double overtime at Johnson Arena Tuesday.

The Eagles, who have now won four of the last five season openers, played the Bulldogs (former OVC foes) to an overtime battle for the second straight season.

Senior guard Jordan Walker scored a game-high 25 points, including two free throws with 0.5 seconds left to send the game to overtime.

The Eagles now host Spalding (Ky.) on Thursday at 6 p.m. ET.

Former Morehead State standout Treshaad Williams will be taking the next step in his professional endeavors, agreeing to terms to play for the Villa San Martin basketball club in Argentina. A native of Nashville, Ga., Williams heads to South America after a season in Australia with the South Adelaide Panthers.

Former Morehead State men's basketball forward Lamontray Harris has taken the next step in his professional endeavors, signing a contract with BC Zaporizhya in Ukraine.

The hoops club, based in the city with the same name, fields its competition in the country's first-tier league, the Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague. By adding Harris, BC Zaporizhya looks to get back to their title-winning ways, having previously won two championships (most recently in 2013).

Adam Gage has joined the Morehead State men's basketball coaching staff as a graduate assistant.

Gage comes to Morehead State by way of the College of Central Florida where he served as a volunteer assistant with the men's basketball team under Head Coach Tim Ryan.

Gage, a native of Beverly Hills, Fla., graduated from Florida Gulf Coast with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science in 2018. In his four years at FGCU, he was a student manager and was a part of two Atlantic Sun Conference regular season title teams and two tournament championship teams.

The Morehead State men's basketball program will host the Eagle Day Camp this summer.

The Eagle Day Camp will take place in Johnson Arena and run from June 10-13 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. The price is $65 per camper and will include a camp t-shirt, a picture with head coach Preston Spradlin, and ample opportunities for prizes, autographs, and more.

Despite a valiant second-half effort after trailing by more than 20, the Morehead State men's basketball team ultimately saw its season come to a close on Thursday night in the quarterfinals of the OVC Tournament as the Eagles fell 95-81 to the Austin Peay Govs.

MSU finished its second full season under head coach Preston Spradlin at 13-20. The Eagles scored 52 second-half points, their highest output against a Division I team this year.

Led by a career high 22 points from sophomore Malek Green, Morehead State men's basketball advanced in the 2019 Ohio Valley Conference with a 72-68 victory SIU Edwardsville Wednesday at the Ford Center.

The Eagles, the fifth seed, improved to 13-19. SIUE's Cougars, the eighth seed, ended its season at 10-21.

As it always is, the battle between Morehead State and Eastern Kentucky in men's hoops was fierce on Saturday night, but sophomore Malek Green hit a pair of free throws with 20 seconds left, and the Eagle defense forced a missed shot at the buzzer as the Eagles defeated the Colonels, 78-77.

Morehead State finished the regular season at 8-10 in the OVC and 12-19 overall. EKU closes its campaign at 13-18 and 6-12 in the league.

Sophomore forward James Baker scored a career-high 20 points and had four blocked shots, while senior Lamontray Harris totaled nine points and seven rebounds in a second-half comeback as Morehead State men's basketball secured a 66-63 win at Tennessee Tech Saturday.

The Eagles improved to 7-9 in the Ohio Valley Conference and 11-18 overall. With Eastern Illinois' loss at Tennessee State tonight, MSU moves into a tie for fifth place in the OVC race with a tiebreaker over EIU. Tech slid to 3-13 in the league and 7-22 overall. It also marked a season sweep over the Golden Eagles.

The Morehead State men's basketball Eagles gained a double-digit lead, saw it evaporate, and fought to gain the lead back in the closing minutes. However, the Eagles fell one play short of a victory, as Austin Peay defeated MSU, 73-70, Saturday afternoon at Johnson Arena.

The Eagles led by as many 10 in the opening frame, holding a 25-15 lead after a thunderous jam from De'Von Cooper brought the crowd to its feet. The Governors closed the stanza on an 18-7 run to take the lead at the halftime intermission, 33-32.

An early lead went by the wayside in the first half, but Morehead State's men's basketball team fought until the end before falling 96-86 to OVC first-place Belmont Saturday at Johnson Arena.

MSU led by as much as five in the first half and held a 27-26 advantage before Belmont started pouring in triples. The Bruins started 2-for-10 from long range but then hit nine of the next 11 and pulled ahead 53-37 by the end of the half.

Junior guard Jordan Walker scored a career-high 30 points, including 18 in the second half, and senior forward Lamontray Harris joined Morehead State's 1,000-point club as the Eagles erased a big first-half hole and defeated Eastern Illinois 84-78 Saturday at Lantz Arena.

The Eagles, who had only won four previous times in 19 tries at EIU, improved to 9-14 overall and 5-5 in the OVC. The host Panthers slid to 6-4 in conference contests and 13-10 overall.

The Morehead State men's basketball Eagles ultimately fell to Jacksonville State, 77-71, Saturday afternoon at Johnson Arena. The Eagles showed guts and grit throughout 40 minutes. But the home team came out on the losing end of a back-and-forth battle that saw six ties and 10 lead changes, with neither team leading by more than six until the closing minutes.

With today's result, the Eagles move to 8-13 on the season, 4-4 in Ohio Valley Conference play. Jacksonville State advances to 15-6 overall, and 7-1 in league action.

The Morehead State men's basketball Eagles catapulted themselves to a victory via a season-high in field goal shooting, downing the UT Martin Skyhawks 85-77 Saturday evening at Johnson Arena.

The Eagles are now winners of their last three games, heading into next week's slate at 7-12 overall and 3-3 in Ohio Valley Conference action. With the loss, UT Martin regresses to 5-12, 0-6 in the league on the year.

Down one more than a baker's dozen with 11:26 to play, the Morehead State men's basketball Eagles played an inspired brand of basketball in the closing stretch of their conference home opener, en route to a 73-69 victory over Southeast Missouri Thursday night at Johnson Arena.

Both teams move to 6-12 overall on the year. MSU improved to 2-3 in Ohio Valley Conference play, while the SEMO Redhawks fell back to 1-4 on the league slate.

Senior Lamontray Harris notched his seventh double-double of the year, tabbing 19 points and 13 rebounds, leading the Morehead State men's basketball Eagles to their first conference victory of the 2018-19 campaign, defeating Tennessee State 74-61 Saturday evening at the Gentry Center.

The Eagles improve to 5-12 on the year and 1-3 in OVC play. TSU regressed to 4-12 overall and 1-3 in conference action.

The Morehead State men's basketball Eagles (4-12, 0-3 Ohio Valley Conference) dropped a 77-60 decision to the Belmont Bruins (11-3, 2-1 OVC) on Thursday evening at the Curb Event Center

Morehead State drew double-figure performances from seniors Lamontray Harris and A.J. Hicks who scored 13 and 10 points. Tonight's performance was Harris' 13th in double figures this season, whereas it marks the 12th such night for Hicks. Sophomore guard De'Von Cooper joined the fray with 10 markers of his own, his fifth night with 10 or more.

The Morehead State men's basketball team found the going tough on offense Saturday night at Austin Peay and ultimately fell 81-67 to the Govs at the Dunn Center.

MSU slipped to 4-11 overall and 0-2 in the Ohio Valley Conference.

The Eagles were led once again by junior guard Jordan Walker, who canned four three-pointers and scored 22 points. It marked his seventh contest with at least 20 points.

The Morehead State men's basketball team opened Ohio Valley Conference play Thursday night by hanging tight with Murray State for the opening part of the first half, But the Racers eventually pulled away and scored a 90-69 win over the Eagles at the CFSB Center.

Murray State moved to 10-2, while the Eagles slipped to 4-10.

The Morehead State men's basketball Eagles saw four different players reach double figure scoring. But, the host Wright State Raiders made their living at the free throw line, resulting in the Eagles enduring a 78-67 loss Tuesday Night at the Nutter Center.

Senior Lamontray Harris led the Eagles in scoring, logging 16 points on 7-of-9 (.778) shooting. Joining in on the balanced scoring effort were senior A.J. Hicks (5-for-10, .500) and junior Jordan Walker (6-for-14, .429) with 13 points each, followed by sophomore James Baker with 10 markers on a 4-for-6 (.667) clip.

A valiant 45-minute effort by the Morehead State men's basketball club came up just short in overtime at Samford Thursday. The host Bulldogs used a late 10-3 run in the extra five minutes to close the game and defeat the Eagles 77-72 at the Pete Hanna Center.

Morehead State slipped to 3-7.

Morehead State's men's basketball Eagles set season and career highs by the boat-load as MSU concluded November on a high note, defeating Ohio-Chillicothe on Education Day, 103-50 on Friday at Johnson Arena.

Johnson Arena welcomed an audience of more than 3,000 from elementary schools in surrounding counties. Staff, faculty, and students from Rowan, Bath, Carter, Elliott, and Fleming counties all joined in for one of the loudest crowds in recent memory.

Morehead State advanced to 3-5 on the season, while Ohio-Chillicothe fell back to 2-8.

The visiting Lipscomb men's basketball team utilized a well-rounded effort on both ends to keep the Morehead State Eagles at bay in their first game back from Thanksgiving break.

Lipscomb made the most of a monstrous run midway through the first half, and it was all the separation needed before the hosting MSU men's hoops squad fell to the Bison, 87-55, at Johnson Arena Sunday afternoon.

The Eagles slipped to 2-4 on the young season, whereas the Bison advanced to 5-1.

Morehead State's junior guard Jordan Walker hit all 12 of his free throws and scored a season-high 25 points, but it wasn't enough to offset a hot night shooting from Green Bay as the Phoenix canned 12 three-pointers to defeat the Eagles 87-70 Saturday in the 2K Cheney Subregional title matchup.

Walker, who is now 24-for- 25 from the charity stripe this season, was one of four Eagles (2-3) in double figures in the point column. But, Green Bay nailed 13-of-25 three-balls, including 5-of-7 from JayQuan McCloud for his team-high 23 points.
