World Food Day event in Morehead set for Thursday

World Food Day events sponsored by AppHarvest are set to get underway in downtown Morehead Thursday.

One of the first World Food Day celebrations in the commonwealth, the two-day event will commemorate the establishment of the United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organization:  a group which AppHarvest shares many goals.

Day one of festivities will feature a concert with multiple bands on Battson-Oates Drive, with the second day consisting of a virtual symposium.  It will include live interviews with AOL Co-Founder Steve Case and Black Soil CEO Ashley Smith.

AppHarvest Founder Jonathan Webb says the day is the first on many such events planned moving forward.

Webb adds the event lining up with Morehead State University’s homecoming week just makes it that much better.
