Morehead State University's Earth and Space Science Program is one of the most respected in the nation. It gives students hands-on opportunities and internships as undergraduates to prepare them for their chosen careers.
Morehead State University has for the sixth straight year been named a “Military Friendly School” by Victory Media, the premier media entity for military personnel transitioning into civilian life. This places MSU once again in the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools nationwide that are doing the most to embrace America’s veterans as students.
The Morehead State University Choirs will present its 55th Annual Choral Festival Concert on Monday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 123 East Main Street, Morehead.
The annual festival concert will feature Chamber Singers, Jazz Vocal Ensemble, University Chorus, Black Gospel Ensemble and Concert Choir. The choral ensembles are conducted by Drs. Greg Detweiler and Roosevelt Escalante.
Morehead State University has announced that John Will Stacy has been hired as regional economic development director.
He will begin the grant-funded position on Nov. 3. Stacy will be based at MSU at West Liberty.
"After completing a comprehensive search, we are pleased to have a person with John Will Stacy's knowledge and skill accept this position," said Dr. J. Marshall, executive director of the center for regional engagement. "He will be a tremendous asset to our outreach efforts due to his understanding of the Appalachian people and the challenges we face."
