The Rowan County Historical Veterans Museum is now open on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm.
Curator of the facility Charles Gilley says it’s the first time regular hours have been scheduled at the facility.
“We always try to open it on special days, you know Flag Day, Veterans Day, Memorial Day and things like that. Hopefully, some people will come down and see it. We’ve got a lot of artifacts in there of war memorabilia. I think people would enjoy it.” –Charles Gilley
Gilley says the museum has a uniform from World War I and a lot of memorabilia from World War II and Vietnam. The museum is near Morehead’s Freedom Park.
