After earning Most Valuable Player honors at the Eagle Challenge, the awards continue to roll in for Morehead State volleyball's Olivia Lohmeier as she's garnered Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors by unanimous selection.

The selection marks the fifth OVC Offensive Player of the Week and eighth overall OVC weekly award for the Cincinnati, Ohio native. The junior outside hitter led the Eagles with 44 kills across three sweeps last weekend while putting together a .305 hitting percentage from the outside.

Lohmeier began the Eagle Challenge last Friday, slamming home 18 kills on 33 swings against Presbyterian, hitting .333 for the match. Her 18 kills in the match marked her second-highest kill count of the season. Lohmeier added 14 kills in Friday's nightcap, helping Morehead State to a straight-set victory over Georgia State. Her 14 kills came on 30 swings as she fashioned a .400 hitting percentage for the match. In the weekend finale, Lohmeier collected 12 kills on 32 swings, hitting .188 as the Eagles downed Providence in three sets.

On the season, Lohmeier leads Morehead State with 98 kills across 22 sets, hitting .224 for the year. She ranks 26th and 39th in the NCAA with 98 kills and 4.45 kills per set, respectively with both totals ranking second in the OVC. Additionally, Lohmeier has helped lead an offensive group that leads the OVC in kills per set (14.45) and total kills (318), totals that rank 20th and 45th in the NCAA, respectively.

Lohmeier and the Eagles return to the court Thursday, traveling to Lawrence, Kan. to compete at the Kansas Volleyball Invitational. Morehead State faces Kansas, Syracuse, and Arizona during the three-day event. The tournament will mark the first time in program history Morehead State has faced three Power-Five Conference foes in an event since the term was adopted, colloquially, in 2006.
