Tri-County Animal Shelter near full capacity

facebook

The Tri-county Animal Shelter in Rowan County is hoping to increase the adoption rate for animals there as the facility nears full capacity.

The shelter has stopped the intake of cats for the time being, with little room left for new dogs as well.

Nicole Meade is an Animal Control Assistant there.  She says when overcrowding occurs, it can be detrimental to the health of the animals their care.

Adoption fees are $100 for dogs and $55 for cats, which covers vaccines, microchipping and having them fixed.

The cats currently up for adoption at the shelter can be viewed here.
