Tremendous Team Effort Leads to School Records and Victory for Rifle

Morehead State rifle capped a tremendous weekend by setting school record for smallbore, smallbore standing and overall score and defeating Georgia Southern Saturday at Button Range.

The Eagles' 4,667 total broke the previous mark of 4,659. MSU also edged the old smallbore record by one point, scoring a 2,314 today. The team set the standing mark with a 763.

In addition, freshman Erin Diehl established the school record for standing smallbore with a 194 and topping the previous mark by one.

The Eagles continued to shatter personal bests today. Senior Brandon Bryer set his personal record for standing at 190 and also set personal bests for smallbore (582) and aggregate (1169). Bryer fired a 587 in air rifle.

Diehl tied her combined score personal standard at 1164. Freshman Katie Frye was on target in air, shooting a personal-high 591. She added a 572 in SB to set a personal record for combined at 1162.

Junior Karly Potts fashioned the best air score of the day for MSU, a personal-record 593. Sophomore Ryan Hinson totaled 582 in smallbore, which included a personal-best 195 in kneeling.

Freshman Amber Schifano rounded out MSU's top effort today with a personal-best totals in smallbore prone (195) standing (189), smallbore total (571) and combined (1154)
