Traffic Advisory: Flooded roads in Greenup County

Bring Me The News

State highway crews in Greenup County are responding to water and debris on roads today following overnight heavy rain and storms.

High water and road closed signs have been placed at the following locations where water is over the roadway:

* KY 2 at MP 6.4 (KY 7 intersection) to MP 6.8 (Hoods Run Road)

* KY 784 MP 8.8 to MP 10.79 (near KY 2)

* KY 784 MP 10.8 (near KY 2) to MP 11.2

These areas along Tygarts Creek and the Little Sandy River commonly experience flooding, and with continued runoff more areas of high water are likely today or overnight - such as on KY 7 between KY 827 and Brushy Creek and KY 7 near Maloneton Fire Department.

Crews will continue to monitor roadways. Motorists are advised to heed all warning signs and never drive through high water.
