The new Morehead Visitor Center will open to the public on 2/20/17 offering visitors a glimpse of the many adventures available in Morehead and Rowan County.

Morehead Tourism will become a new resident in the Depot located at 150 East First Street.  The Depot also houses the Morehead-Rowan County Chamber of Commerce and another organization soon to be announced.

“We have always looked for a presence in Morehead to be easily accessible for visitors. When this opportunity became available, we jumped,” said Joy Brown, Morehead Tourism Executive Director. “We are proud to promote our community by taking advantage of this great space in downtown Morehead.”

Tina Holbrook has been designated Visitor Center Program Specialist and will operate the space under the direction of Morehead Tourism.

“I am more than excited and honored to be stepping into this new role,” Holbrook said. “I have been with tourism for 16 years and have seen so much change for the better of our community. I feel this is another step in the right direction.”

The center will feature a small souvenir-themed gift shop, brochures, details on local adventures, and much more. Hours of operation will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Hours are subject to change based on demonstrated need.

The public is invited to attend the grand opening celebration Thursday, March 16 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
