St. Claire Mandates Vaccinations

In a letter to staff Wednesday morning, officials with St. Claire Healthcare announced that COVID-19 vaccinations will now be required for all staff as a condition of employment.  The mandate will go into effect on Thursday.

The requirement applies to all staff, volunteers, students, residents, travel staff, and healthcare professionals with facility privileges at any SCH facility. Contract workers, and on-site vendors conducting business and present in any area where patient contact may occur are also included. All new hires will be required to provide proof of vaccination, or initiate a vaccination series, prior to beginning work.

Dr. Will Melahn is the Chief Medical Officer at Saint Claire Healthcare.  He says vaccines added to mandatory masking creates layers of protection for the community.

Melahn says it is important for everyone in the community to be vaccinated.
