St. Claire HealthCare Names Lang Administrative Director, Post-Acute Care

St. Claire HealthCare is proud to welcome Karen Lang, FACHE, MHA, PT, NHA, as Administrative Director, Post-Acute Care.

Lang will provide administrative leadership for St. Claire HealthCare’s comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation and skilled nursing care unit, conveniently located on the 5th floor of St. Claire Regional Medical Center. The unit provides acute inpatient rehabilitation and skilled nursing care for patients who require a combination of physical, occupational, and speech therapies because of life-changing illnesses or accidents such as stroke, head or spinal cord injuries, major trauma, amputation, hip fractures, and other neurological and orthopedic conditions.

Lang’s experience includes more than 10 years of service as St. Claire HealthCare’s Vice President, Clinical & Post-Acute Services. In that role, she was responsible for the operational and financial performance of multiple physician practices, home care and home medical supply services, diagnostic imaging, lab services, pharmacies, environmental services, food services, rehabilitation services, and more.

“Karen has extensive knowledge of rehabilitation services and brings a wealth of knowledge to this role,” said Lerae Wilson, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, Vice President for Patient Services/Chief Nursing Officer. “She has a long career as a leader in the healthcare industry, and we’re excited to welcome her back to St. Claire.”

Before joining St. Claire’s leadership team in 2007, Lang served as the Director of Rehabilitation Services/Interim Vice President at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. She also held multiple rehabilitation and post-acute care positions at Wuesthoff Health System in Melbourne, Florida including Physical Therapist, Director of Rehabilitation Services, and Vice President of Health Services.

In addition to managing the daily activities of the inpatient rehabilitation unit, Lang will also assist the Chief Nursing Officer with strategic planning, integrity planning, and regulatory compliance in addition to other duties.

Paul Hitchcock earned his Masters in Communications from Morehead State University and Bachelors in Radio-TV/Psychology from Georgetown College. A veteran broadcaster for more than 40 years and an avid fan of blues, jazz and American roots music. Hitchcock has been with WMKY since 1986 and was named General Manager in 2003. He currently hosts "Muddy Bottom Blues" (Fri., 8pm-9pm), "Nothin' But The Blues" (Sat., 8pm-12am), "Sunday Night Jazz Showcase" and "Live From The Jazz Lounge" (Sun., 8pm-9pm) and "The Golden Age of Radio" (Sun., 2pm-3pm). He also serves as producer for "A Time For Tales" and "The Reader's Notebook."
