Seniors Lead Rifle to More School Records in Final Regular Season Match

MSU Athletics

Seniors Siarra Crum and Brandon Bryer each shot combined personal-best totals to lead Morehead State rifle to two more school records Saturday at the NCAA qualifier match at Kentucky.

The Eagles, who still have a chance to potentially earn a berth to the NCAA Rifle Championships, scored a 4674 aggregate total - a school record. That included a school record 2358 in air rifle.

Crum fired a personal-best 592 in air and totaled her best-ever combined score at 1149. Bryer, who shot a personal-best 192 in smallbore standing, finished with a 586 on that gun, which is also a top score for him. His 195 in kneeling also allowed him to record a new combined high-water mark of 1171.

Also contributing to the air school record was junior Alexa Potts with a 593 for the team lead. Sophomore Ryan Hinson fired a 588, while Bryer came in with a 585. Junior Karly Potts also was in the starting five and shot a 582.

Freshman Amber Schifano tied her best day on the air range with a 584, while fellow first-year teammate Erin Diehl notched a 583.

In smallbore, Diehl tied her prone personal standard at 199. Alexa Potts turned in a 579, followed by Hinson with a 577.

The NCAA selection show for rifle is Tuesday and should the Eagles get in or any individuals be selected the chance to vie for the NCAA's top trophy in rifle takes place March 8-9 in Morgantown, W.Va.
