The Morehead-Rowan County Clyde A. Thomas Regional Airport has received a major grant.
The airport was opened in 2007 and has been in need of some upkeep. This newest grant is one of twelve awarded by the Federal Aviation Administration, and comes in at just under $1.3 million.
Bruce Mattingly is Chair of the Airport Board. He says over the past four years the hub has installed all new LED lighting and navigation equipment, as well as various other construction projects.
Those projects together accumulate to a total cost of over $4 million.
Along with frequent corporate jet usage, the airport also hosts several events throughout the year. More information can be found at mrcairport.org.
