Morehead State rifle opened its 2019-20 season with a home victory over North Georgia Saturday.
The Eagles fashioned scores of 2330 in Air Rifle and 2282 in Smallbore to best the Nighthawks 4612-4572.
Sophomore Amber Schifano shined with a team (and career) high 590 in Air Rifle. She also set a personal best in aggregate score with an 1160. On the Smallbore range, she set her prone career best with a 193.
Senior Alexa Potts tied Schifano for the team's best Air Rifle showing at 590. Senior Jesse Moyer and freshman Grace Weber both totaled 583 on the air gun, while senior Karly Potts and freshman Elizabeth Plecity scored 580s.
Alexa Potts led the Eagles in Smallbore with a 575, while junior Ryan Hinson notched a 572. Sophomore Erin Diehl also had a 572, while Schifano fashioned a 570.
The Eagles will return to action in two weeks against Murray State and Kentucky at the Kentucky Long Rifle Cup in Lexington.
