RAM Event Seeks Volunteers

Remote Area Medical Oklahoma

The volunteer services of more medical professionals are being sought for next month’s Remote Area Medical Clinic in Morehead. The event is taking place October 25th and 26th at the Johnson First Church of God on Cranston Road.

Cassie Mace is with the Greenup County Health Department and serves as president of Kentucky RAM. She says about 300 health care providers have already pledged to participate.

“Most of our volunteers are originating from the state of Kentucky, but I have seen in the volunteer registries that we have some individuals traveling from New York, Colorado, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania…they’re coming from all over the country because they want to help people too.” –Cassie Mace

Mace says the Morehead event is expected to draw more than a thousand persons in search of free dental, vision and other medical services. RAM is a nationwide volunteer organization committed to providing health care to communities in need across the U.S.
