Public Meeting Planned on KY 2498 Improvements in Morgan County

Millennium Highway

Residents of Morgan County are invited to attend a public informational meeting to discuss a project to improve KY 2498 in West Liberty.

The meeting will be held Tuesday, July 28, from 5-7 p.m. in the second floor meeting room of the West Liberty City Hall. This will be an “open house” format meeting with no formal presentation.

Representatives from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and project consultants will be available to answer questions and provide information about the project. Handouts will be available describing the project’s purpose and need, the right-of-way acquisition process and potential utility relocation concerns.

Members of the public will be able to view displays showing the proposed route and the properties to be impacted by the project.

A project is under development to improve KY 2498 (Liberty Road/Wells Hill) between the US 460 intersection and the vicinity of the Morgan County ARH Hospital.

The proposed improvements include widened shoulders and eliminating geometric deficiencies. The project is in the preliminary design phase. No schedule has yet been set for right of way acquisition or for construction.
