Preliminary results announced for 2019 Kentucky Associated Press Awards

WMKY earned thirteen nominations for the 2019 Kentucky Associated Press Broadcasters Awards. Winners will be announced Saturday, April 13th at the annual awards banquet in downtown Lexington. 

AP College Competition Nominees: 

  • Best College Radio Reporter: Jacob Lindberg
  • Best Feature Story: Chas Jenkins - Chuck Mraz Retirement
  • Best Feature Story: Julianna Leach - Sardis Church Rebuilt
  • Best College Newscast: Logan Pemberton - WMKY News
  • Best College Newscast: Jacob Lindberg , Peyton Stewart and Logan Pemberton - Mountain Edition News

Greg Jenkins has been the Operations Director at MSPR since 1999. Greg is a 1996 graduate of Morehead State University with a BME in Music Education and received a Masters of Science in Industrial Technology in 2008. Greg oversees training, scheduling, and evaluation of the student board operator staff, preparation of the daily traffic logs and serves as weekday classical music host. He is also the webmaster of the MSPR website and maintains MSPR's webstreaming and podcasting.
