There were over 500-people in attendance at a Black Lives Matter protest in Morehead over the weekend.

There was a significant amount of tension felt throughout the community in the days leading up to the event Saturday, but the roadside demonstration, the march that followed and the candlelight vigil later in the evening were all conducted peacefully.

There were also several community members who addressed the crowd during the event.  Pastor Jason Mays says he’s proud of the support that showed up Saturday, but it can’t stop there.

Pastor Mays is with Bread of Life Ministries on East Main Street in Morehead.
