Paramount Arts Center Announces Executive Director

Paramount Arts Center

The Board of Directors for the Paramount Arts Center has announced that Norma Meek will now serve as Executive Director of the historical performing arts center, an iconic landmark in Ashland.

Meek has been serving as interim director since November 2014 and was excited to accept the position on a more permanent basis.

"I'm delighted to be able stay at the Paramount and continue what the staff and I have already put in motion. The Paramount is fortunate to have an amazing, hard-working staff, and I am thrilled to be part of an exciting new season," Meek said.

Kim McCann, partner with VanAntwerp Attorneys, LLP, is president of the Paramount Board of Directors and was instrumental in recruiting Meek for the Interim position and is thrilled Meek accepted the position.

"The board has been very pleased with the direction she has taken the Paramount this past year and we are glad she is willing to stay on as permanent director,” said McCann.

Since her time with the Paramount, Meek has worked closely with the board of directors and together they launched a new season, created a first-ever fundraising event, "The Lip Sync Battle," and are finding various opportunities for grants and other funding to help grow the youth education program, as well as create performing art events that excite the community.

Norma is both a strong leader and a hard worker.  I've known Norma for many years and worked with her in a variety of organizations, nonprofits and educational areas. She has such a passion for children and this community, so she is a perfect fit, and we are fortunate she will be the new Director at the Paramount Arts Center,” added McCann.
